GBC Bagging Plant Installation
hello world
As part of a major upgrade, GBC purchased a new bagging machine from Germany, and planned a three week shutdown in order to decommission the old plant and reinstall the new machinery.
The project involved a number of key challenges, including the time restrictions, the difficulty extracting the old plant and installing the new plant to meet all New Zealand health and safety standards.
Working with the team at GBC, German engineers sent over to supervise the installation and other contractors, BDX managed to safely remove all the old plant to allow for the installation of the new bagging machine, as well as manufacturing safety guard rails on site, with BDX’s mobile fabrication unit, to ensure the perfect fit.
The BDX team then worked with the German engineers to fully commission the machine and provide technical support to ensure the project happened on time.
Here’s what Jacobus Vermeulen, Electrical Engineer at GBC, had to say:
“Thank you BDX for the professional service that you provided GBC during the decommissioning of our old bagging plant, and the installation of
our new plant. The efficient and prompt manner in which your team completed all tasks is testimony to the high level of skills available from BDX. We also appreciate that your personnel were always ready to help us out wherever and whenever issues arose.
The removal and installation work was completed flawlessly, and without delay, due to the readily availability of your specialist machinery, and the expert advice that your staff provided. Working with your team made the bagging plant project a more pleasant experience and we look forward to using BDX’s services again in our next installation project.”
