Taking a tired, ageing bulldozer and transforming it into a near new piece of machinery was a big challenge, but one the team at BDX welcomed. The project involved completely stripping the 50 tonne machine and then rebuilding it to its former glory.
The D9R bulldozer, which was scheduled for use on the Puhoi motorway extension, needed a full restoration, as well as a safety refit to ensure it was fully compliant before it entered the job site.
The project involved taking apart nearly every part of the machine, to be stripped down, blasted, painted and then reassembled. The machine also required upgraded safety features, including a new safety walkway. In just three weeks, the 50 tonne bulldozer was fully restored and ready for use on the motorway.
