Port Nikau represents 100 hectares of freehold development in central Whangarei and will become an urban waterfront community for businesses and residents into the future. BDX has been the manager of the Port Nikau development since 2007.
Developing a vision for urban Whangarei
BDX has delivered all the management services as well as civil development for the project, including planning, earthworks, remediation works and establishment of a business park.
In the first stage of development, Logyard Road Business 4 Subdivision opened in 2014, with the first two factory buildings being completed for Placemakers Frame and Truss and BDX Group.
BDX is also project managing the planning processes for Port Nikau, including Plan Change, Masterplan and Precinct Plans, as Port Nikau works towards construction of a waterfront, mixed use community. Port Nikau Precinct 1 ground remediation work began in 2018, with wick draining and pre-loading contracts provided by BDX.
The vision for Port Nikau is to become Whangarei’s inspired urban waterfront community, designed for the future and offering a new way of living, with high quality waterfront residential accommodation and commercial opportunities.
